What your day looks like

  • 07:45

Go over the day's planning with the workshop manager and then get to work!

  • 08:00

Your work order says to perform a major service on a truck. You get started checking fluids, replacing oil filters, and inspecting the brakes.

  • 10:00

Time for a cup of coffee in the canteen.

  • 10:15

You replace the brake discs and pads. Take a test drive for a final check and let the workshop manager know the truck is ready for pickup.

  • 12:15

During the social lunch, the conversation turns to the Van Dijk Vitality Program. Don't forget to claim your gym membership!

  • 13:00

A customer calls with a breakdown on the road; you jump into the service van for roadside assistance on-site. The job isn't too bad and the driver is soon back on their way.

  • 15:00

Time for another coffee with the team.

  • 15:15

Your next job is repairing the lighting on a trailer; you measure the voltage with a multimeter and determine that a relay needs to be replaced.

  • 16:15

Help your colleague with an MOT inspection on a trailer; you'll be starting your APK1 certification soon, so this is a good way to prepare in practice.

  • 17:00

Tidy up your workspace and check if you've filled out all your work orders correctly. You're done for today—another new day tomorrow!
