What we’re looking for

  • Diploma as a 1st or 2nd commercial vehicle technician

  • Experience with repair and maintenance of towed equipment

  • MOT (APK) certification or willingness to obtain it

  • A flexible, independent, and solution-oriented work attitude

  • You are strong in customer contact and know how to explain technical information clearly

  • You are a team player with an enthusiastic attitude

What your day looks like

  • 07:45

    Have a quick chat with some colleagues and then get to work! You drive the yard tractor to the customer to pick up the trailer you'll be working on.

  • 08:00

    An MOT inspection and maintenance service must be performed on the trailer. It is important that everything works perfectly for the customer. It is a young trailer, so the trailer is inspected and signed off before the break, and the maintenance service is also finished. After this, you return the trailer to the customer.

  • 10:00

    Coffee break! Colleagues are in the canteen talking about last night's football match.

  • 10:15

    A trailer comes by with a poorly functioning roller shutter. You repair the shutter so that everything is in top condition again.

  • 12:15

    During the social lunch, the conversation is about the next staff party. Most colleagues have been working here for years and they have the best stories about parties from the past. You are very curious!

  • 13:00

    After lunch, a trailer with damage drives in. You assess the damage and make a damage calculation for the customer. You perform an emergency repair so the trailer can drive safely again while awaiting approval for the full repair.

  • 15:00

    Time for a short break, with a cup of coffee and a talk about the Van Dijk Vitality Program—you still want to sign up for that. Don't forget!

  • 15:15

    The last job of the day: you perform welding work to fix a defect in the rear frame. You still have phone contact with a customer to go over the schedule for the next day.

  • 17:15

    The workday is over! You tidy up your workspace; tomorrow is another day!
