What your day looks like

  • 07:30

You start the day with your colleagues over a cup of coffee, going through the schedule with the Service Manager and workshop foreman. You check what's on the agenda for the day and ensure the work orders for the commercial vehicle technicians are ready. The day can begin!

  • 09:00

A customer arrives at the counter; the engine isn't running smoothly. You consult with the workshop foreman—a job like this can sometimes take more time. There's space to check the truck. You create a work order with the description of the complaint. You offer the customer a cup of coffee and have them take a seat in the driver's lounge.

  • 10:00

The workshop foreman lets you know that the truck that was just brought in can be repaired, but it will take longer, so you arrange a courtesy car for the customer so they can head home.

  • 12:00

Today is a nice busy morning; the phone rings regularly. You and your colleague schedule many appointments for the coming week. You regularly check whether the accepted work fits into the daily and weekly schedule.

  • 12:15

Time for lunch in the canteen, catching up with your colleagues. Jokes are flying back and forth.

  • 13:00

A colleague from the warehouse asks for help completing an invoice. You grab the work order and match the right parts with the right tasks. Another invoice ready for billing!

  • 13:15

A customer is stranded abroad; you contact VAS and check if they are indeed one of our customers, then you issue a payment guarantee. Naturally, you stay in touch with the customer and their driver, as well as with VAS, so you know exactly when the customer will be helped and can estimate when the vehicle will be ready at the foreign dealer.

  • 15:00

A quick coffee break in the canteen; there's a lot of talk about the new Van Dijk Vitality program, it's great that everyone is enthusiastic.

  • 15:15

You receive an email from the Service Manager with new guidelines from the importer for following up on campaigns. You read the message carefully and discuss it with your colleague right away.

  • 16:00

You go through tomorrow's schedule, check maintenance schedules, and ensure work orders are created correctly. You also take maintenance contracts into account or check for ongoing campaigns.

  • 17:00

The day is almost over; you quickly call the customer from this morning to let them know the truck is repaired and they can come swap the courtesy car tomorrow. Another satisfied customer! Tomorrow is a new day!
