What we’re looking for

  • Training as a 1st or 2nd Commercial Vehicle Technician

  • You have APK1 and tachograph certification or are willing to obtain them

  • You are a hard worker who contributes to the development of the company in a positive way

  • We are all flexible, so being on call and working a monthly Saturday shift are part of working at Transportonderhoud. These shifts are, of course, scheduled in consultation with you

What your day looks like

  • 06:45

    Coffee first! Chat with some colleagues and then get to work!

  • 07:00

    The workshop manager goes through the planning with you, you grab your tablet containing your work order, and then you can start.

  • 07:15

    First, you'll get to work on a truck that was brought in this morning. A service is scheduled. You check the entire vehicle and report your findings to the workshop manager. You already start carrying out the service.

  • 09:00

    Time for a cup of coffee and a sandwich in the canteen.

  • 09:30

    The brake pads are quite thin. The workshop manager will call the customer about this and inform you once approval is given.

  • 11:00

    A short coffee break in the workshop, a few jokes back and forth, and then quickly back to your job. The customer called back: you have permission to replace the brake pads, so you get started on that right away.

  • 12:30

    During the social lunch, the conversation is about the football match this coming weekend. You all bet on which team will win. That's going to be exciting!

  • 13:00

    The service is finished and you've moved the truck outside. The workshop manager gives you the next job; you can go and perform an MOT inspection on a truck.

  • 15:00

    Time for another coffee with the team. The MOT inspection is almost finished, you perform a small task, and then the truck is in perfect condition. You sign off the truck and let the workshop manager know that the truck can be picked up.

  • 17:00

    You would like to develop further in the field of tail lifts, so you discuss this with the workshop manager. He is enthusiastic about your idea and will get to work on it. After that, you tidy up your workspace. Another day tomorrow!
